and then what do you do on Monday?

Our friends from Broadway and East 55th, Dennis and Georgia, have invited all of us to join them for a parade Monday evening with a show and concert to follow at the Dan Kane Park near East 65th and Broadway. We’ve been by to see the landscaping at the park, and it’s fabulous.

The Warszawa Historic District

Broadway/Slavic Village in Cleveland, Ohio

Production Schedule

  • 11-1 p.m.:  Build the stage at the Warszawa Music Festival at Dan Kane Park
  • 1-1:30 p.m.: Install signage at the Festival
  • 1:30-3:30 p.m.: Decorate East 65 from Lansing to Heisley
  • 3:30-4 p.m.: mark the sidewalk at Polish Cultural Center to set up the order of the units
  • 4-5 p.m.: construct banners, signs, streamers that we will carry in the parade
  • 5-6 p.m.: greet parade units; marshall parade units into position
  • 6:15 p.m.:  step-off into E 65 at Lansing (Police want this time strictly observed)
    6:40: escort units into the Music Festival
  • Recognize units and witness stage performances by  certain parade units at the Music Festival
  • Hear remarks by officials
  • Enjoy the featured performers of the Music Festival: the Polish Band Ptaki and a performance dance group from Valley View (I can’t find the name!)
  • Clean up the Festival site; clean up East 65

  • 3.       Boys and Girls Club
  • 4.       Morgana Little League
  • 5.       Broadway United Methodist Church
  • 6.       Holy Name School
  • 7.       Distinguished Men of Excellence
  • 8.       South High School Band
  • 9.       St. Ignatius Circus Company

Not in a parade unit?

We have banners, flags, streamers for you, your family, and friends to carry!  Or make your own; be creative!

We will follow the Cleveland Museum of Art’s rules for Parade the Circle:  Big, Noisy, Colorful   (not perfect—especially not the first year)

Parking: street parking + the Polish Cultural Center has kindly offered us their parking lot

Forecast:  sunny and 75  (Parade will occur rain or shine)
